A Look at the Limited Edition Spider-Man 2 PS5

Spider-Man PS5

As a longtime Spider-Man fan, I’ve been counting down the days to the release of Spider-Man 2.

With the new game releasing in October, who wouldn’t be excited, especially after how great the first two games were?

Ahead of the new game, Sony released a new limited edition PlayStation 5 bundle. So let’s dive in and take a closer look at everything it has to offer.

To start, the packaging is changed from the white box that the standard PS5 comes in.

For the limited edition’s box, the front displays the Spider-Man 2 cover art featuring Peter Parker and Miles Morales. On the back, there’s a detailed drawing of Miles and Peter in a showdown with Venom.

Inside the box, you’ll find the essentials like HDMI, USB, and power cables, along with some paperwork. Plus, there’s a bonus: a digital edition code for Spider-Man 2, set to release October 20.

The limited edition DualSense is mostly matte black, with hints of red and white, mirroring how Venom merges with Spider-Man in the game and comics. The d-pad stands out as it’s entirely black, while the action buttons remain white, symbolizing that Venom hasn’t completely taken over yet. Flip the controller, and you’ll see the back is entirely black, completing the sleek design.

It’s visually interesting, especially when paired with the PlayStation 5.

The PS5 itself sports two different covers ā€“ one is all black with a white Spider-Man logo, while the other matches the controller with its black and red design, complete with yet another Spider-Man logo. I personally think it looks best when standing upright, but you can experiment with it.

In terms of ports and specs, it’s got what you’d expect: Ethernet, HDMI, USB ports, and a disk drive on the front. With 825 gigabytes of storage for games, you won’t run out of space anytime soon.

If the bundle’s $600 price tag isn’t in your budget, you can purchase the covers and controller separately for a more affordable option, missing out only on the limited edition box.

While this PS5 is undoubtedly cool, there’s still some untapped creative potential, like customizing the middle portion of the console.

But if you’re as excited as I am for Spider-Man 2, you’re bound to find a lot to like in this limited edition bundle.
